The Greeting Message feature lets you send an automatic welcome message when someone messages your WhatsApp number for the first time. This ensures that even if your chatbot fails to trigger on the first message, the user still gets a proper response.
🔍 Why Use Greeting Message?
- Some first-time users may see: “Waiting for this message. This may take a while” and your chatbot may not respond.
- Greeting Message will automatically reply to new users even without keyword triggers.
- You can exclude contact groups such as admins or unsubscribes.
Step 1: WhatsApp > Features > Greeting Message
Click on the Greeting Message feature from the WhatsApp menu.
Step 2: Choose WA Account
- Select the WhatsApp number you want to use for sending the greeting message.
Step 3: Configure Greeting Message
Enable the Feature
Set Status to Enable to activate the Greeting Message for your WhatsApp account.Select Recipient Type
Choose who should receive the greeting message:
All – send to everyone
Individual – send only to personal chats
Group – send only to group chats
Custom – select specific Contact Groups, WA Contacts, or WA Groups manually
Set Exclude Option (Optional)
If needed, set Exclude to Enable to skip specific contact groups from receiving the greeting message.Enable Message Sending
Ensure Send Message is set to Enable so the message is actually delivered.Choose Template Type
Select the reply format:
Text – plain message
Text & Media – message with image, video, or audio
Upload Media File (Optional)
Use the File manager to upload a media file if using Text & Media format.Write Your Caption Message
Enter your greeting in the Caption field. Example:
Welcome to Click4Wasap Sales Team
8. Set Re-trigger Interval
In Re-trigger After (day), define how many days to wait before this same person can receive the message again. You can set it up to 365 days.
Step 4: Click Submit Button
- Double-check your settings.
- Click the Submit button to activate the Greeting Message.

⚠️ If Send Message is disabled, you must enable at least one of the following features below to proceed:
- ✅ Sequence Message – for follow-up automation
- ✅ Next Bot Action – to trigger the next chatbot step
- ✅ Notification Message – to alert your admin or group
- ✅ Labels Manager – to tag the user with a label
- ✅ Contact Manager – to add the user into a contact group
🚫 If none of these are enabled, the system will block submission and show this error
